This Skill addresses a key pain point in AI Agent migration: manually transferring configurations, memories, skills, API keys, and other scattered files from a developed AI Agent on an old device to a new one is tedious and error-prone. agent-pack-n-go uses SSH for remote control, encrypting and packaging all Agent data from the source device, transferring it securely, and automatically deploying it to the target device. The entire process takes approximately 25 minutes, eliminating the need for manual file-by-file copying.
Usage is straightforward: simply tell the AI on the old device, "Help me migrate to a new device." The AI will prompt you for the new device's IP address, SSH username, and password (used only for initial SSH key setup). After manually running the ssh-copy-id command once to complete key authentication, all subsequent steps—packaging, transfer, deployment, and verification—are handled automatically by the AI. You can monitor real-time progress feedback for each stage.
It's ideal for developers who frequently switch workstations, need to deploy standardized Agent environments across a team, or want to quickly restore an AI assistant's complete state. This is especially valuable for users with extensive custom skills, conversation memories, and API key configurations, enabling a zero-loss migration.
Before migrating, ensure the target device meets the minimum requirements (2-core CPU, 2GB RAM, Ubuntu 22.04/24.04). Note that sensitive data (e.g., API keys) is transferred via encrypted SCP during migration—operate within a secure network. If using the same Discord Bot Token, the old Agent must be stopped before starting the new one to avoid conflicts.
Key Features
Unlike manual migration or using rsync scripts, this Skill provides a complete AI-guided interactive workflow: users only need to supply the IP address and password. The subsequent packaging, transfer, remote deployment, and verification are all automatically coordinated by the AI with real-time progress feedback. Other tools typically require manually executing multiple commands or writing scripts.
Limitations
Only supports Ubuntu 22.04/24.04. The target device must have at least a 2-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. It relies on SSH and scp commands, requiring users to manually run `ssh-copy-id` once to complete key authentication.
FAQ
Is sensitive data secure during migration?
Data is transferred via encrypted SCP, and the source device's package is cleaned up after completion. It is recommended to operate within a secure network.
How long does the migration take?
The entire process takes approximately 25 minutes, including packaging, transfer, deployment, and verification. Actual time may vary based on network bandwidth and configuration size.
