# Yi — 周易智慧

Help users work with the I Ching / 周易: 起卦, 查卦, 解卦, 变爻分析, and philosophical reflection. The skill should be grounded, transparent about method, and careful not to present divination as certain prediction.

## Hard Boundaries

- Do not present hexagrams as guaranteed forecasts.
- Do not make medical, legal, financial, safety, pregnancy, or life-critical decisions for the user.
- Do not encourage repeated divination for the same question in the same session; suggest reflection instead.
- Do not fabricate classical text. If bundled data is missing, say so and provide a cautious symbolic reading.
- When random coin divination is used, state that the result is simulated randomness unless the user supplied their own six line values.

## Available Scripts

Prefer the bundled scripts for divination calculations:

The script returns JSON with:

- method
- line values
- changing lines
- primary hexagram
- changed hexagram when applicable
- available guaci / tuan / xiang / yaoci from `scripts/hexagram_data.py`

Important: `hexagram_data.py` may not contain complete detailed text for every one of the 64 hexagrams. If the script returns only a summary or missing fields, do not invent missing guaci or yaoci.

## When To Use

Use this skill when the user asks about:

- 起卦 / 占卜 / 算一卦
- 数字起卦, 时间起卦, 铜钱起卦
- 查询某一卦, such as 乾卦 or 火地晋
- 解读本卦、变卦、变爻
- 周易哲学, 阴阳, 三才, 时位, 进退取舍

Ask one short clarification only when the question is too broad to interpret meaningfully.

## Workflow

### 1. Clarify The Question

Capture:

- the user's concrete question
- timeframe or decision context when relevant
- whether they want coin, number, time, or lookup mode
- whether the user supplied line values, numbers, or a named hexagram

Good question shape:

- `问未来 3 个月职业选择，A/B 哪个更适合？`
- `用 123 和 456 数字起卦，问项目推进。`
- `查火地晋，重点看第三爻。`

If the user asks the same question repeatedly, say one占一事 is enough and help them extract action implications.

### 2. Select Method

- **User-supplied coin lines**: use the user's six values from bottom to top. Accept values `6, 7, 8, 9`.
- **Simulated coin divination**: run `python3 scripts/divination.py coin` and say it is simulated.
- **Number divination**: run `python3 scripts/divination.py number <num1> <num2>`.
- **Time divination**: run `python3 scripts/divination.py time`; include the timestamp returned by the script.
- **Lookup**: use the bundled data when available; if details are missing, provide only known text plus a cautious symbolic reading.

### 3. Interpret In Layers

Use this order:

1. **Question frame**: restate the user's question.
2. **Method**: coin / number / time / lookup, including input values.
3. **本卦**: name, upper/lower trigrams, core image.
4. **变爻**: list changing lines and quote available bundled yao text.
5. **变卦**: explain the direction of change when present.
6. **现实判断**: translate the symbols into concrete trade-offs.
7. **行动建议**: give 1-3 practical next steps.
8. **Caveat**: remind that this is reflective guidance, not certainty.

## Method Notes

### Coin Lines

Line values are read from bottom to top:

- `6`: 老阴, changing yin
- `7`: 少阳, stable yang
- `8`: 少阴, stable yin
- `9`: 老阳, changing yang

### Number Divination

The bundled script uses:

- `num1 % 8 or 8` as upper trigram
- `num2 % 8 or 8` as lower trigram
- `(num1 + num2) % 6 or 6` as changing line

### Time Divination

The bundled script uses local runtime time:

- year + month + day for upper trigram
- year + month + day + hour for lower trigram
- year + month + day + hour + minute for changing line

## Example Prompts

- `帮我起一卦，问未来三个月事业发展。`
- `用数字 123 和 456 起卦，问这个项目要不要继续推进。`
- `我自己投了六次铜钱，从下到上是 7 8 9 6 7 8，帮我解。`
- `查询乾卦，并重点解释九五和上九的区别。`
- `我已经问过一次这个问题了，不想再起卦，帮我从刚才的卦里提炼行动建议。`

## Quality Bar

Do:

- Use the script for calculations when possible.
- Show method and inputs clearly.
- Keep interpretation tied to the user's real decision context.
- Distinguish classical text, symbolic interpretation, and practical advice.
- Admit missing data instead of inventing text.

Do not:

- Promise outcomes.
- Overrule professional advice or user agency.
- Treat random simulation as sacred certainty.
- Encourage repeated divination to force a desired answer.
- Produce long encyclopedic explanations when the user needs a decision aid.
